some recent favorites. first is nhà cafe. they been around for at least a couple years and recently have been doing pop ups and saving up to open their own spot in sj. they mainly have drinks but they recently did some work with droothebaker making a hotdog and a fish sandwich. i didnt try the hotdog but it smelled yummy. the fish sandwich tho, damn.. it was hellaa good. and the new nhà cafe drinks were excellent as well. my favorite was the peach, orange, and lemongrass soda. the corn cloud from their original drinks was crazyy good tho lol that one might be my favorite out of everything ive tried. another recent spot is san ho won. this place was probably one of the best korean restaurants ive tried in the bay. a few dishes here and there were really outstanding, enough for me to consider them as best food ive ever had haha. the two that for sure stood out to me were the beef neck and the peach bingsu. those two were hellaa good. i would def go back and eat there again, and its not too expensive either esp as an occasional spot. the last place is tancho in castro valley. me and my gf have gone basically once a year bc quality and taste is so good, convenient parking, and excellent price for omakase. some favorites are definitely the nigiri (akami, uni, otoro). there were a few desserts that were really good as well but i forget what exactly they were and cant find photos :(.
